Paintball is the fastest growing sports worldwide and every day thousands of new players join this exciting sport. Many might think it is an extreme sport – well, it is but there several differences to “normal” extreme sports. One of the major differences to regular extreme sports is that you hardly can survive a game on your own. Yes, you need to cooperate and communicate with your team-mates.
Have you ever been to one of these career assessment centres held by big companies when you apply for a job where your social behaviour, team spirit, leading skills are being tested? Guess what? I think they should exchange their entire psychological test against a round of paintball and then select their new staff. You have to be highly communicative, you need interpersonal skills to follow or organise a team.
For beginners, the most important thing to remember is to protect yourself. Many injuries with paintball have occurred. The number one paintball rule is: never ever take you mask off because the velocity of a paintball is high and it can easily damage your eyes. So, be careful when you are playing. To be a successful player you need to follow some further simple rules. Well, of course you need the right gear. Without a high quality gear it’s hard to win. But, I think knowledge and skills ‘how to paintball’ are even more important. It does not make sense to spend a fortune on gear, if you don’t know how hide effectively; playing in a team and so on. One question I came across many times is that beginners waste an awful amount of paintball. Unnecessary in my view ! If you have the right knowledge and skills you would use only a minimal amount of paintballs and still be the winner of the game.

Where did snowboarding originate, and the debate goes on. Whether snowboarding descended from skiing or skateboarding, snowboarding is a legitimate exciting sport that requires a descent on a snowy slope using a snowboard. It is difficult to really point out who started this fun-filled sport, but one thing is for sure; somebody will always have the idea of sliding down a snowy slope on a board or sled.
The growing recognition of snowboarding around the world is evidenced by its establishment as a sports discipline in 1995. As such, snowboarding has been included in events in Winter Olympics and Winter X-games. It even has a US Open tournament of its own. The growth of snowboarding as a sport is undeniable as more and more people get hooked on it.
Now that you are among the countless ones who want to try out the fun and excitement that only snowboarding can give, it is high time that you learn the basics of making your very first downhill ride on a snowboard. So how do you begin?
First, you need to procure the necessary snowboarding equipment. You need to have the right snowboarding gear, clothing, boots, and of course, snowboard. Make sure that your snowboard is the right size for you; not too expansive or narrow.
If you already have the necessary equipment, you can start learning the basics of riding your snowboard. Here are a few important things to remember as you start to find your destiny in snowboarding.
Keep in mind that snowboarding is similar to snow skiing. The body movements that enable you to control and stabilize your snowboard are the same as the movements in skiing. Therefore, if you are already a skilled skier, there will be fewer problems for you ahead. A skier will have easier time than a skateboard thrasher to learn snowboarding.

The first question that comes to mind for this particular extreme sport is, “Why.” Why would you jump off a perfectly good bridge? Or crane? Or why would you jump off a platform? Or hot air balloon? The question that follows closely behind in the observer’s mind goes something like this – “Is that a rubber band tied to their feet?” The answer to the first is simple: To fly, bounce and fly again. To we land based humans, the desire to soar through the air has been with us throughout history. Bungee jumping offers the sensation of flying from the initial free-fall to the repeated rebounds. And, the answer to the second question is, well, yes. It’s a rubber band!
Bungee jumping, or some non-elasticized form of it, has been documented for centuries. As far back as the Aztecs people have been plunging headlong into space with some sort of lifeline tied to their bodies. Back then it was vines – not much give I imagine. Today, the “rubber band” is actually much more that. It is thick pre-stressed braids of latex shock cord. Most jump companies have added a body harness to the attachment fittings for added security. There have been injuries and fatalities, but they are very few considering the several million jumpers since its modern beginnings in 1979. All equipment is provided at the sites whether on a bridge or at a commercial jump site. Just bring your confidence!

Surfing | July 13th, 2009
Surfing is one of the most thrilling sports there can be on sea. But unlike most sea sports, it does not require machinery of some sort. All you need in surfing are: a board, surfing gear, rippling waves and a sense of adventure. But just like any other sport, surfing can also drain your energy and patience. It can be grueling especially to the neophytes, as it requires perfect mind and body coordination. To have a body in total harmony with your inner self to get your body in the best surfing condition, surfers will recommend one thing and that is to practice yoga!
You might think that surfing and yoga are far out from each other but you are wrong. Both have similar concepts that really blend well to give you a better life. Here are five reasons why surfing and yoga is a great combination.
1. Yoga and surfing have a common denominator. They are ways of life.
Yoga is more than an exercise as surfing is more than a sport. Both are ways of living that help make people attain a fuller and more complete life. They also help you know more not only about yourself but also about your surroundings: yoga seeks enlightenment of your spirituality while surfing makes you one with nature. The yoga world is also similar with a surfing moment; a place of freedom, a place of peace, a place without time… Either way, you become your better person as you completely immerse yourself in the activity and in the process, rest your mind and spirit to release your fullest.

Purchasing a skateboard can be a very expensive investment, especially if you are purchasing a top-of-the-line quality skateboard. Before rushing out to buy that skateboard of your dreams, you may want to consider the benefits of building your own.
It is likely that once you start looking in to building your own board, you will find that the profit margin on pre-made skateboards is unbelievably high and it is much cheaper to build a custom skateboard from scratch than to buy one already built. It is amazing how little it costs to make your own skateboard if you know where to buy your parts.
It is not uncommon for a customer to pay top price to have their skateboard built to their specific needs, especially if the customer spends a lot of time on a skateboard. However, the same skateboard can be built for much less if the customer buys all of the custom parts and builds the skateboard themselves.
Since skateboards are manufactured to meet the needs of the majority of skateboarders, there are times when there is not a standard model available that truly fits the skateboarder’s needs. Therefore, building your own skateboard may be the only way to accomplish getting the features you need at an affordable cost.
By building your own skateboard, you have the control to put every feature you want on your board so that it is exactly the way you want it. You can purchase a deck that will be the perfect fit for your size, the type and size of wheels that make your skateboard comfortable and maneuver the way you want it, and add all of the little details that truly make the skateboard your own creation. By customizing your skateboard as much as possible, you will have built a skateboard that you will get plenty of enjoyment from.
